Dulce Maria (born Dulce Maria Espinoza Savinon, December 6, 1985) is a Mexican actress and singer, born in Mexico City, Mexico.
Dulce Maria began her acting career as a child. She made her first television appearance at the age of eight, in Plaza Sesamo, the Mexican version of Sesame Street. She also appeared in El Club de Gaby and Discovery Kids in the early days of her acting career.
In 1996, she became a member a musical group called Kids that recorded some hit singles such as La Mejor de Tus Sonrisas and Prende el Switch. Three years later, in 1999, she left the group to form one of her own with her former boyfriend Daniel Habif, but they quit before they could even record their first single.
In 2000, Dulce Maria became a member of the Mexican pop group Jeans, having replaced former member Angie; in 2002 she left the band to act in the series Clase 406, where she received her first protagonist role. In 2004 she became part of RBD, a spin-off musical group from the Mexican series Rebelde, where Dulce Maria portrayed Roberta Pardo. In her love life she has been connected to one of the RBD group members, Alfonso Herrera. Other people whom Dulce has been out with has been Memo Ochoa former member and goale of El America (mexican soccer team)and there have been rumors that she has also been dating former co-star Christopher Uckermann, though they both have denied it.
Dulce recently won best juvenile actress in the premios Tv y novelas because of her on screen talent. She is the favorite of numerous fans of both the Novela Rebelde and from the pop group RBD. Dulce Maria has been compared to many gifted actresses from Mexico, one of which was Lucero. Dulce Maria has become extremely famous and is thought to have a bright and successful future in both acting and in the music industry. In 2004, after having joined RBD, Dulce Maria's fame grew rapidly as she signed endorsement deals with Coca-Cola, Garnier, Kotex and cklass Shoe Ware.
While with the group RBD she has recorded five Spanish language albums (two live) and two Portuguese albums. Celestial is the third Spanish studio album and will be released on November 24, 2006 through EMI Records.
The RBD first English album Rebels will be released on December 19,2006. The English album will contain two songs written and composed by famed composer Diane Warren. The first single "Tu Amor" premiered on English radio stations in the United States on September, 2006.
